Judging Methodology
We honor the deep connection shared between horse and rider. Our evaluation system consists of two clear sections, emphasizing communicative quality over technical perfection. We reward teams showing authentic faith, serenity, and synergy. Movement scores follow traditional dressage standards, but our collective marks are specifically tailored for bridleless riding performance needs.
HARMONY & PARTNERSHIP (/10)
How well horse and rider work together as a team. The overall picture of trust, cooperation and mutual understanding.
COMMUNICATION & EFFECTIVENESS (/10)
The clarity, subtlety and effectiveness of the rider’s aids. How easily the horse appears to understand and respond.
RELAXATION & CONFIDENCE (/10)
The horse’s mental state throughout the test. A relaxed, willing and confident horse should be rewarded.
ACCURACY (/10)
Accuracy of the test, use of the arena & correctness of movements.
OVERALL BRIDLELESS IMPRESSION (/10)
The judge’s overall impression of the performance as a demonstration of bridleless riding.
