September Competition Results

Another month, another lovely set of tests. Thank you so much to everyone who joined us for Septembers’s Competition. It’s always a pleasure to see the partnerships developing, the confidence growing, and the “that was definitely part of the plan” moments being handled with style.

This month’s results were all from the bridle off sections, and there were some cracking scores across the levels. A huge well done to everyone who took part, submitted their videos, and simply gave it a go. That’s the bit that really counts, even if the scoreboard is the bit everyone scrolls to first. We see you.

Please don’t forget to send us your photos with your rosettes once they arrive. We love seeing them, and frankly, horses posing with rosettes is the kind of wholesome content the world could do with more of.

Level 1 results

A big congratulations to Laurie DeLalla and Una Runa, who took the win in the Level 1 bridle off section with a super score of 90.83%.

What a lovely result to start the month’s placings. Scoring over 90% is no small thing, and doing it bridle off makes it even more impressive. There’s nowhere to hide when the tack is minimal and the partnership has to do the talking.

Level 2 results

The Level 2 section was a strong one, with all combinations competing bridle off. There was very little between the top two, with Laurie DeLalla and Una Runa just edging ahead on 90.38%, followed closely by Hilary Moses and Max on 90.00%.

Well done to Laurie and Una Runa for another top placing. A second win on the board is a lovely achievement, and consistency like that takes work.

Hilary Moses and Max deserve a big mention too, sitting just behind with a clean 90.00%. That’s the sort of score that says, “we came prepared,”.

Congratulations as well to Jacki Honeybourne and Riverview Inspiration, who placed 3rd with 89.62%, a score that would make most riders do a small happy dance in the yard. Jen Hyland and Mossy also put in a strong performance to finish 4th on 87.31%. A tidy section all round.

Level 3 results

The Level 3 bridle off section brought another set of brilliant scores, with Julia Pfliegl and Korfu taking the top spot on a fantastic 93.33%.

A huge well done to Julia and Korfu for taking 1st place with the highest listed score of the month. 93.33% is a seriously smart result, and at Level 3, that kind of score reflects a really polished partnership.

Jen Hyland and Mossy also had a great outing in this level, finishing 2nd with 90.83%. It’s lovely to see combinations stepping up and putting in confident, accurate work across different levels.

Well done to Mandy James and Frosty, who placed 3rd on 87.50%, and to Katie Spanswick with Tiger Rolo, who took 4th on 86.39%. Finishing 5th, Kim Smith and Delario earned 85.83%, rounding out a competitive and high-scoring Level 3 section.

Level 3 is never just about getting through the movements. It asks for a bit more polish, a bit more communication, and sometimes a bit more negotiation with a horse who has read the test and decided they have editorial notes. Everyone in this section should be really pleased with the standard shown.

Please send us your rosette photos

Once your rosettes arrive, please send us your photos. We genuinely love seeing them, whether it’s a beautifully posed yard shot, a proud grin, or a horse looking deeply suspicious of the ribbon you’ve asked them to stand next to.

If you’re happy for us to share them, even better. Rosette photos are such a nice way to celebrate everyone’s hard work, and they help show the friendly community behind these classes. It’s not just about the final percentage, it’s about the hours of schooling, the little breakthroughs, and the partnerships that keep improving month by month.

Rosette policy update from next month

We also wanted to share a quick update about rosettes going forward.

Due to small class sizes, we’ll now be enforcing our existing rosette policy more consistently. From next month, rosettes will be awarded as follows:

  • Rosettes will be awarded from 1st to 3rd place as standard.

  • After 3rd place, there will be one extra rosette awarded per two additional competitors.

  • Rosettes will be awarded up to 6th place maximum.

To make that clearer, here’s how it works in practice:

Number of competitors in the class

Rosettes awarded to

1 to 4 competitors

3rd place

5 to 6 competitors

4th place

7 to 8 competitors

5th place

9 or more competitors

6th place

So, if there are 4 competitors in a class, rosettes will be awarded to 3rd place. If there are 5 competitors, rosettes will be awarded to 4th place, and it will continue from there up to 6th place.

Thank you for understanding. This helps us keep things fair and consistent across the classes while still celebrating as many riders as we can.

Well done, everyone

A massive well done again to all of this month’s competitors. Whether you came away with a placing, a personal best, or simply a clearer idea of what to work on next, it all counts.

Keep riding, keep enjoying your horses, and please do send in those rosette photos. We can’t wait to see them.
